Portugal - Things to do and visit

On the southwest of Iberia Peninsula, Portugal is bordered by Spain and the Atlantic Ocean. Portugal enjoys mild weather, making it a paradise in terms of climate with mild, rainy winters and warm, sunny summers.
Located along the Douro River estuary in northern Portugal, Porto's historic city center was considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996. The name has its origin in Port wine, as the cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia were responsible for the export of this fortified wine.
